The Competition Date is Saturday 8th June 2019
The closing date for entries is Monday 20th May, 2019, or earlier if the event is fully subscribed. In the interests of balance, some classes may close before others.

Trophy winners and some others will be invited to perform in concerts at All Saints' Church, later in the year on
Sunday 6th October at 5pm (Sir Malcolm Sargent Commemoration)

Making an entry
Most entries are made online. Alternatively, please make a festival entry manually: please download an entry form, and take it to the Stamford Music Shop, 11 St. Mary’s Hill, Stamford, PE9 2DP, together with cash or cheque for £4 for each entry to each class. Cheques made payable to ‘Stamford All Saints PCC’.

You can enter more than one class, provided different pieces are played.

Class 9 is a family class, two or more members of the same (extended) family playing one piece together (siblings, Mum and/or Dad with child, grandparents, nephews and nieces, etc.). At least one of the performers must be in Years 1-8.
In most classes (Classes 1-4, and 6, 7 and 9), competitors perform one piece from a current exam syllabus for the grade. For Pre-Grade 1, a piece or song that you would present at a Preparatory Test would be acceptable.

"Current" means in force in 2019 - so a piece from a syllabus that expired in March would be fine.

In 2019 we introduce a new family class, two or more members of the same (extended) family playing and/or singing one piece together (siblings, Mum and/or Dad with child, grandparents, nephews and nieces, etc.). At least one of the performers must be in Years 1-8. Please enter Class 5.

Pieces and songs must be different from pieces and songs presented by the competitor in other classes, and need not be from a grade exam syllabus.
Class 8 is for competitors who sing and play, or who play more than one instrument, and allows them to present a short programme comprising one piece on each instrument. Maximum of one song and two pieces, or three pieces. The pieces must be on different instruments. Total maximum time allowed is 8 minutes.

For example, competitors can

Sing and Play, OR
Play and Play, OR
Sing and play and then play a different instrument, OR
Play 3 instruments.

Pieces and songs must be different from pieces and songs presented by the competitor in other classes.
